Dr. Imran Gruhonjic is an orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of sports injuries, shoulder and knee conditions, fractures, arthritis, and a wide range of general orthopedic problems. His approach emphasizes individualized care, combining the latest evidence-based surgical and non-surgical treatments to help patients relieve pain, restore function, and return to the activities they enjoy.

Dr. Gruhonjic earned his medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine before completing his orthopedic surgery residency at SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City, where he was selected to serve as Chief Resident. He then completed an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine, one of the nation’s premier sports medicine fellowship programs. During his fellowship, he served as an assistant team physician for San Diego State University football, men’s and women’s soccer, the San Diego Gulls professional hockey team, San Diego Legion Rugby, and several other collegiate and high school athletic programs.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Gruhonjic has contributed to orthopedic research and has published multiple peer-reviewed studies. He remains committed to staying at the forefront of advances in orthopedic care while providing compassionate, patient-centered treatment tailored to each individual’s goals.
